Hi sorry to say but I found there were way to many problems related with creating and maintaining static files (not only what's been reported here in the support threads). And bugs/collisions with other plugins. So I've decided to completely abandon that idea, and wouldn't touch it with a barge pole now :)
But have you tried using a caching plugin? That could be the solution, and would also improve performance greatly.
