OK. well having FTP access to the old site is good!
If you can FTP into the site and download the wp-content/uploads folder and upload that to the new site while telling it to overwrite existing files you should be good. If you have not added any media to the new site yet, you might be able to rename the existing uploads folder and just upload the entire uploads folder from the old site to the new site.
