I love your plugin. I’ve just launched my first podcast at https://greyhoundnation.dog, with the feed at https://greyhoundnation.dog/feed/podcast. However, iTunes (the iOS and MacOS podcast apps) is NOT using the <content:encoded>
description with HTML formatting for episodes.
I looked at our RSS feed, and for each episode, we have the <description>
node, the <itunes:summary>
node, and the <content:encoded>
node.
Which one is iTunes using? I feel like they’d be cascading down to the <content:encoded>
node which has the HTML formatting we want to see rendered IF the <itunes:summary>
node weren’t present. But there’s not a way to turn that node off in PowerPress.
We do not have the optimized description option turned on in the plugin settings. It’s unclear what this does relative to Apple’s own podcast documentation (which doesn’t even mention the <itunes:summary>
node). We are also not adding custom per-episode iTunes settings. We want to use the blog post as-is for the episode description, so the <content:encoded>
is really the target experience we’d like to see.
Any thoughts on this? Please advise.
