Google Search Console has flagged up a noindex xml file on my site, which needs resolving. Having spent quite a bit of time trying to find out what this is, and how to resolve it, it turns out it is a file created by Yoast to show my location to Google. Presumably this is useful to Google and created for this very purpose, so why is it set as no index?
I’ve been directed to another thread on this forum, which suggests is isn’t supposed to be indexed, and can be ignored. However, I am not keen to just leave it, as it will always be a red flag in my console. I am also getting emailed by Google daily to tell me there is an issue. I am sure it is not helping SEO of Google is flagging it, so how do I either ask Google to ignore it, or change it to index, or remove it altogether if it serves no purpose?
