XML Sitemaps redirect to homepage

Hi,

All my XML Sitemaps created by Yoast redirect to homepage. This issue only occurs when Yoast SEO is deactivated. Is this expected behaviour?

On the advice of my host (Dreamhost) I deactivate Yoast SEO when I’m not actively using it (to compose Title and Description tags, to noindex / nofollow certain posts, or optimize KWs). However I need my sitemaps to be accessible at all time so search engines can easily index new posts.

I already cleared cache in all locations. Yoast, theme (Total) and WP engine all up-to-date.
