Hello,
I got a problem that seems to be around for over 5 years now, but there still seems to be no solution for it. I am using YOAST SEO do create my sitemap, it works very well so far, I can access it without problems, I get no errors or anything like that.
Still Google Webmaster Tools tell me that 4 of about 10 sub-sitemaps are HTML and so not supported by Google, but they actually are XML, is this a Google or a plugin problem?
-Wordpress and plugins are all on newest updates
-Resaving/changing permalinks does not solve it
-deactivating and reactivating XML sitemap does not solve it
-I got currently no caching plugin activated
Would be nice if someone got an idea what to do, it is quite bat that google isn´t indexing about those posts
