Hi all,
Currently: I have a custom domain through GoDaddy that I have connected to my WP.com site which is, of course, hosted by WP.com.
With that being said, I'm growing up and am ready to shed the boundaries of my youth, choosing to upgrade to .org (because, plugins).
Because I'm using this for a professional portfolio/slight blog, I don't need a lot of GB or bandwidth, etc, so I opted for a free hosting site (www.marathoncloud.com) to host the domain.
(Note, I opted to use another domain service as opposed to GoDaddy because I still have a bit of time left on my domain subscription and I can't switch it over to their hosting service without a hassle, so I'm waiting it out until it expires with the free hosting option)
Now, I've exported the website to an external xml file and I uploaded it to the marathoncloud site, but I've also tried to click the installer button and nothing came up. I feel like I've missed something quite simple, but I'm not sure what it is.
Would it be best for me to upload everything to an FTP, delete the .com data, and go from there? Or is there an alternative?
I'm kind of stuck right now and it would be great if anyone could lend some solid advice.
