I created the file before I moved the domain name.
OK - so let's examine this a bit closer. You created an .xml export file from angstromdesign.org that included links to media on angstromdesign.org. Then you tried to import it into angstromdesign.org at another host. See where this is going?
Your .xml file loops back on itself & thus fails.
When you pointed angstromdesign.org to your new self-hosted site, your wordpress.com site will have reverted back to it's original domain name - eg: <something>.wordpress.com. You need to log back into that site now and create a new export file.
