Lee on "XML pubDate not importing"

Hi,

I have an XML import script for Wordpress I wrote to reparse XMLs from SiteCore export to WP format. Everything is working fine except the pubDate.

My pubdate is formatted as such in my XML:

<pubDate>Thu, 01 Mar 2007 00:00:00 -0600</pubDate>

When I import the XMLs, the new posts have today's date as their publish date instead of the dates from the XMLs.

So, two questions. One, what am I doing wrong here? And two, does this have anything to do with whether or not the authors are imported or attributed to a new author?
