I had to delete my site and do a fresh install on the server due to a nasty virus. I have a backup of my database which is probably also infected so I just want to upload my xml backup with the posts and pages from the admin panel.
I tested this process by using WAMP. I installed WP on my harddrive, imported the xml and all of my posts, pages, and images were in the right place.
I then installed a new instance of wordpress on my server, imported the xml the same exact way as before and the media files did not import.
Why did it work on my hard drive but not on the server?
I saved a copy of my uploads folder before I deleted the site. Should I just upload that via FTP?
