When I go to tools > export & create the XML file, it works, but the file is 3.6mb & contains only some posts from 2010 (the start of our blog) & the xml file content ends part way through

but this does not help.
Is there some other method I can use (mysqldump.sql)? to transfer my data? or otherwise how can i fix this issue?
